How to Use Calendar Hangers
Wire calendar hangers are a fun, fast and easy way to make your own hanging calendar. They are available in black or white to maintain a clean and professional look, ranging in length from 4 "to 12". Due to the versatility of the size, you can create mini calendars or larger hanging calendars. The ring is centered on the hanger for easy display.
Ready to start? First, make sure you have your own printed calendar page. There are various templates online, and you can also make your own templates using Word, Photoshop or any other program of your choice. Second, you will need a pair of scissors. You can buy it from most home improvement or hardware stores. Next, you will need a wire tier. Depending on how many calendars you need to make, choose between manual or motor. Make sure that the machine is a punch and stapler and that the wire closer is connected, otherwise you will need to separate a wire closer. If you only make calendars and not other wired books, then a 3: 1 pitch machine may also be your best choice. Next, you will need a thumb punch to create a half-hole (also called a half-moon) for the hanger ring. Some larger machines may punch holes automatically, but most machines (especially machines with lower output) do not punch holes automatically, so this small benchtop punch is needed. Finally, you will need Wire-O binding supplies. They come in many different colors and several sizes, but for most calendars, a 3: 1 pitch 1/4 "wire works well.
How to use the calendar hanger:
Print your personalized calendar page.
Use the punch and stapler to punch calendar pages.
Use a wing punch to make a half hole in the center (not necessary for all machines).
Put the wires in your perforations.
Place the calendar hanger in the center of the wire.
Move the entire block close to your wires to close and hook the wires around the page.
Use wire pliers to trim the wires on the hanger.
