Wire-O Binding Supplies for Notebook, Calendar and Gift-Book Production
Everything in this category is formed on our own machines in Dalang, Dongguan: pre-cut lengths for semi-automatic closers, continuous spool for automatic feeders, boxed and carton-packed nylon coated double wire, calendar coils, electroplated finishes and retail-ready stationery boxes. Three sub-series split the range by end use — children's books double wire, office supplies double loop wire binding, and stationery box twin loop binding wire.
Most bulk double loop wire programmes here follow the same path: confirm pitch against your punch pattern, approve a colour sample, then reorder against a locked specification. Nothing complicated — but the two steps people skip are exactly the two that cause scrapped books later.
Years Experience
Print shops & notebook factories
You need the spine to seat cleanly and stop jamming the closer. Start with the pitch table below, then send us your machine brand.
Stationery & gift brands
You need the binding to match a Pantone on the cover, in small runs. That is a forming-line job, not a warehouse job — see the OEM section.
Distributors & resellers
You need boxed stock, your own carton marking and a supplier who won't disappear mid-season. Private-label terms are set out further down.
Brand owners designing a book
If you are specifying a finished journal rather than buying a component, skip ahead to the YPS notebook programme.
Browse YPS Twin Loop Binding Elements by Pitch, Finish and Packing
Every item below is made in-house. If a size or colour isn't listed, it can still be formed — the list reflects what we stock photography for, not the limit of the line.
Choosing 2:1 or 3:1 Pitch Double Loop Wire for Your Punch Pattern
Pitch is decided by your punching equipment, not by preference. 3:1 sets three loops to the inch and runs roughly 1/4" to 9/16" (6.4–14.3 mm), which suits thinner blocks — pocket notebooks, workbooks, reports. 2:1 sets two larger loops to the inch, typically 5/8" to 1-1/4" (16–32 mm), and carries thicker bodies like annual planners, manuals and photo books. Across this YPS category the diameter range runs 1/4" through 1-1/2".
Get it wrong and the element won't align with the punched holes: the closer jams, the loops distort, and finished copies get scrapped. So send your machine brand and hole pattern with the enquiry. We confirm pitch, diameter and machine compatibility in writing before anything is formed, which removes most of the risk of a first order with a factory you haven't used before.
| Parameter | Specification |
|---|---|
| Also called | Wire-O, twin loop, double-O, ring binding element |
| Pitch | 2:1 and 3:1 |
| Diameter | 3:1 ≈ 1/4"–9/16" (6.4–14.3 mm) · 2:1 ≈ 5/8"–1-1/4" (16–32 mm) · category range 1/4"–1-1/2" |
| Core material | High-grade steel |
| Coating | Nylon (standard) · PET (optional) · electroplated finishes in a separate series |
| Colour | Stock range plus custom Pantone and RAL matching |
| Pre-cut lengths | A4, A5, Letter, or any custom length |
| Packing | Spool · pre-cut · boxed · carton · custom |
| Machine fit | Common automatic and semi-automatic Wire-O systems, verified against your machine brand first |
| Sheet capacity | Stated per diameter on the quotation — it shifts with paper bulk and cover board |
| OEM / ODM | Colour, cut length, packing and labelling |
| Documents | Datasheet with every quotation; batch test reports on request |
Loop count and sheet capacity are confirmed per order against production data rather than published as fixed numbers, because both move with paper bulk and cover thickness.
Not sure which pitch your closer takes? Send a photo of the punched edge and the machine plate. We'll name the double loop wire pitch and diameter that fits, before you commit to anything.
Nylon, PET and Electroplated Finishes on YPS Double Loop Wire
Nylon coating is our standard and what most notebook and calendar programmes run on. It gives even adhesion and a smooth surface, which matters because coating that flakes or scratches during closing turns into a visible defect on a retail product — the kind buyers photograph and email back. PET is the option where you want a different surface character, and it's also the material our team knows best from the eco-friendly coil side of the business.
Electroplated finishes sit in their own plated series for gold and metallic looks. Whichever coating you choose, the core is high-grade steel and the end-bending is where inexperienced factories lose books — we've been forming and closing these for long enough to know where long-term deformation starts.
Different construction entirely? Compare nylon coated single binding wire, metal spiral coil (6–50 mm) and plastic spiral coil.

Why Buyers Pick a YPS Double Loop Wire Factory Over a Stockholding Distributor
Most pages competing for this search belong to distributors reselling fixed sizes in black, white and silver. That's a perfectly good model — if your spec already matches their shelf. It stops working the moment you need a Pantone pulled from a cover print, a non-standard cut length, or a packing format that suits your feeder.
Those are forming-line decisions, and a warehouse can't make them.
Dongguan YPS Binding Technology Co., Ltd runs its own automatic forming and spooling machines, plus the equipment they feed: the YP-400 double wire binding machine, the APM-450 automatic paper punching machine, the CK-620 semi-automatic punch and our own filament extruding lines. Practically, that means three things for you. Colour and length are production variables instead of stock limits. The same team can supply the binding machine and punching machine the consumable runs on. And there's no reseller margin sitting between your price and the line.
Track record, from our own records: supply to LEO Paper Group, around 50 long-term partners, 1,580+ customers across more than ten industries, and shipments into Asian, European and North and South American markets. Consultants with over ten years in binding handle the technical side of selection.
What YPS Builds Once the Binding Element Is Solved: Custom Notebooks
We started as a coil factory. Most of our volume still sits here, in this category. But the buyers who understand spines eventually ask the harder question — who makes the book?
YPS now runs a second line of work: small-batch, hand-finished notebooks and journals made for gift and stationery brands. It is deliberately slow, and it is not the cheapest book on the market. It isn't trying to be. What that price buys is a set of decisions most automatic lines never stop to make.
| Paper | Inner stock chosen so fountain-pen ink sits on the page instead of ghosting through to the reverse — the single thing serious notebook users test first. |
| Surface | A smooth sheet that doesn't shed dust at the punch, so nothing loose ends up trapped in the spine. |
| Covers | Several scratch-resistant materials, chosen for how they survive a bag rather than how they photograph on day one. |
| Fully printed interiors run with high-grade eco-friendly inks, not just a ruled grid. | |
| Spine | Metal, plastic or rubber-coated rings drawn to the cover's colour. This is the part we've made for years — it's why the match is exact instead of close. |
Walk into any stationery aisle and the books all came off the same kind of line: same weight, same white, same black spine. Read enough of them and they stop registering. Ours are made so that someone picking one up can tell a person chose things — the paper, the board, the ring colour, the way the corner is finished. Sampling on this side runs 3 to 7 days, MOQ is kept low so a brand can test the market before committing, and FSC-certified stock can be specified where your buyer requires it.

OEM Double Loop Wire: Custom Pantone Colour, Cut Length and Packing
OEM work in this category turns on four variables — colour, cut length, packing and labelling. Colour runs from our stock range to a custom Pantone or RAL match: send the code, we produce a matched sample for approval, and that approved chip is what protects consistency across repeat orders a season later. Cut length covers A4, A5 and Letter as standard, with any custom length trimmed on our own cutting equipment.
Packing is the variable buyers most often underestimate. Automatic spool-fed systems need continuous spool; semi-automatic and manual closers need pre-cut; retail resale needs boxed or ring-box formats. Tell us what the material feeds into and we'll recommend a format, then confirm export packing for your shipping route. Matching it properly removes handling steps at your end and cuts damaged stock on arrival.
On tooling: standard 2:1 and 3:1 production runs on existing lines, so there's no tooling charge. Where your hole pattern needs a dedicated paper punching die mould, it's quoted as a separate line item — put ownership and storage terms on the purchase order in writing so there's no ambiguity two seasons later. We'd rather you asked now than discovered it then.
Private-Label Twin Loop Wire Programmes for Distributors and Brands
Selling under your own name takes more than the component. We handle carton marking, box artwork and label design so goods arrive shelf-ready or ready to forward to your customer without repacking. Send artwork and marking requirements with the order and they get built into the production plan rather than bolted on at the end, which is where most private-label delays actually come from.
If your programme spans several binding formats, the same production and packing arrangement extends across the related categories — double wire loop in spool, electroplated double wire O and calendar hangers. One supplier, one document set, one shipment behind a multi-line catalogue.
Sampling, MOQ and Lead Time on Bulk YPS Wire-O Orders
Samples are available across the double loop wire range. The sample charge and freight sit on the buyer's account; once that's settled and your files are confirmed, stock-colour samples leave within one to two days by express, while custom-colour and finished-book samples take three to seven days. Approve for size, colour and closing performance, and that approved sample becomes the reference for bulk and for every reorder afterwards.
MOQ is set per format and colour rather than as one blanket number, because a stock-colour pre-cut order and a custom Pantone spool run have completely different set-up economics. Give us target quantity, colour and packing and the applicable minimum comes back with the quotation. Lead time works the same way — small pre-cut runs move faster than full-container or custom-colour production, so we quote an indicative window against your order and confirm a schedule once the spec is locked. We'd rather give you a real date late than a comfortable one early.
Payment terms in use: 30% deposit with the 70% balance before delivery; 30% deposit with the balance by L/C; or 100% in advance. Western Union and PayPal accepted. Pre-sales selection advice costs nothing.

SGS Testing, ISO 9001 and Batch Reports Behind YPS Binding Supplies
Inspection on every double loop wire batch targets the four things that actually surface as defects in a finished book: pitch accuracy and hole spacing, coating adhesion and surface smoothness, loop roundness and forming consistency, and resistance to deformation under handling. Before despatch, batches are checked for colour consistency and packing integrity. Inspection scope can be widened to match what your own incoming-goods process requires.
| Document | What it means for your purchase |
|---|---|
| SGS testing | Our binding materials have passed SGS testing — usually the first evidence European and North American buyers ask for when qualifying a new supplier. |
| ISO 9001 | Our Dongguan plant operates an ISO 9001 certified quality system. Certificates are published on the company certificate page so your QC team can read the scope rather than take a claim on trust. |
| Batch test report | Issued on request against your specific order, giving you something to attach to your own goods-in acceptance file. |
| REACH / RoHS and similar | Requirements differ by destination market and end use. Tell us which standard your market enforces and we'll supply the documentation we're able to support, so you can verify it before shipment rather than after. |

Double Loop Wire Sourcing FAQ for Procurement Teams
How do I choose between 2:1 and 3:1 pitch?
Start with the machine, not the book. Pitch has to match your punch pattern. 3:1 covers roughly 1/4" to 9/16" (6.4–14.3 mm) for thinner blocks; 2:1 covers roughly 5/8" to 1-1/4" (16–32 mm) for thicker ones. Send your machine brand and block thickness and YPS confirms pitch and diameter before you order.
What is the MOQ on a custom-colour order?
It's set per format and colour rather than as one blanket figure, because set-up differs sharply between stock-colour pre-cut goods and a custom Pantone spool run. Send target quantity, colour code and packing format, and the applicable minimum comes back with your quotation alongside sample terms for the same spec.
How long do samples take, and who pays?
Sample charge and freight are on the buyer's account. Once settled and your files are confirmed, stock-colour samples ship within one to two days by express; custom colours and finished notebook samples take three to seven days. Approving that sample locks the specification for bulk and every reorder after it.
Nylon or PET coating — which should I specify?
Nylon is the standard and covers most notebook, planner and calendar programmes, with even adhesion and a smooth surface. PET is the option where you want different surface behaviour, and it's the material our eco-friendly coil work is built around. Both run on a high-grade steel core, and we'll send both as samples for a side-by-side comparison.
Do you supply spool for automatic binding machines?
Yes — continuous spool for automatic spool-fed systems, and pre-cut to A4, A5, Letter or any custom length for semi-automatic and manual closers. Because punch patterns and machine designs differ between brands, we ask for your machine brand so compatibility is verified in advance rather than discovered on your production floor.
Can you match the binding colour to my cover artwork?
That's the main reason brands come to us rather than a stockholder. Send a Pantone or RAL code, or a physical cover swatch, and we produce a matched sample for approval before bulk. The approved chip stays on file, which is what keeps the colour identical when you reorder next season.
Can YPS make the finished notebook, not just the binding?
Yes. Alongside binding consumables, YPS produces small-batch custom notebooks and journals for gift and stationery brands — fountain-pen-friendly paper, scratch-resistant covers, fully printed interiors and a ring colour drawn from the cover. Sampling runs three to seven days with a low MOQ for market trials. See the notebook side of our business.
What certification and test documentation can you provide?
Our binding materials have passed SGS testing, and our Dongguan plant runs an ISO 9001 certified quality system, with certificates published on the company certificate page. Batch test reports and datasheets are issued on request. For destination standards such as REACH or RoHS, tell us what your market enforces and we'll supply what we can support.
