What we do
One factory, the whole binding line
DongGuan YPS Binding Technology Co., Ltd. (YPS) is a custom spiral notebook manufacturer and coil binding supplier based in Dongguan, Guangdong, China. We produce single-wire spiral, twin-wire Wire-O and PVC coil notebooks - running offset and digital printing, die-cutting, CNC hole punching, coil forming and automatic binding under one roof. Keeping every stage in-house lets us hold hole alignment, page-pull strength and color consistent, from the artwork file to the finished, cartoned, coil-bound notebook.
Why vertical integration matters for your order: fewer hand-offs between suppliers means tighter tolerances, faster sampling, and consistent results when you reorder. A single team owns punch pitch, coil diameter and crimp quality, so a notebook approved at sample stage is the notebook you receive at volume. It also gives you one factory-direct point of contact for OEM, ODM, wholesale and private-label spiral notebook programs - no trading-company markup, and nothing lost between separate print, punch and binding vendors.

Pre-press & printing
Offset (CMYK plus Pantone / PMS spot colors) and digital printing for covers and inner pages, color-matched to an approved proof - full-bleed on 70–157 gsm inners and 200–400 gsm covers.
Die-cutting & corner rounding
Covers and inners cut to size, special-shape covers die-cut, and corners rounded to a 6–10 mm radius for a clean, safe edge.
CNC hole punching
Programmable round (3:1, 4:1) or square (2:1, 3:1) hole patterns, around 20–25 sheets per stroke, with edge alignment held within 0.5 mm across the binding edge.
Coil forming & binding
Single-wire, twin-wire Wire-O and plastic coil formed in-house from 6 to 50 mm, then threaded and crimped on automatic binding lines.
Finishing & assembly
Hot-foil stamping, emboss / deboss, matte / gloss / soft-touch lamination, spot UV, tear-off perforation, inner pockets, elastic bands, pen loops and ribbons.
In-house quality control
Incoming, in-process and pre-shipment inspection on every order - page-pull (binding strength), lay-flat and alignment checks following recognised methods such as ASTM D4279.
Inside the factory
Built for repeatable B2B and OEM production
YPS is set up for repeat wholesale and OEM/ODM orders, not one-offs. Operating since 2002 from a 20,000 m² factory, it forms its own coil and builds its own binding machines - so a twin-wire Wire-O planner or single-wire school notebook moves from approved sample to bulk without leaving the building.

Production process
How a coil-bound notebook is made
Ten controlled stages take your files from raw paper and coil to a packed, ready-to-ship coil-bound notebook. Each step feeds the next, so tolerances set early - punch pitch, coil diameter - carry through to the finished book.

Equipment
Binding machinery - much of it built in-house
YPS doesn't just run binding equipment, it builds it. The same company designs and manufactures paper punching machines, double-wire binders, spiral forming machines and PVC filament extruders, and forms its own coil. So coil supply, machine setup and notebook production stay under one roof, rather than spread across separate vendors.
Offset & digital presses
Full CMYK process plus spot / Pantone colors - offset for long-run covers and inners, digital for short-run and variable-data notebooks.
Paper punching - APM-450 & CK-620
Automatic APM-450 and CK-620 punching machines, plus semi-automatic and industrial punches: round 3:1 / 4:1 or square 2:1 / 3:1 holes, ~20–25 sheets per stroke, alignment within 0.5 mm.
Double-wire binding - YP-400
The YP-400 double-wire (Wire-O) binding machine threads and closes twin-loop coil for repeatable binding on volume orders.
Spiral & Wire-O forming
PVC single-spiral forming and double-wire forming & spooling machines produce coil in-house - 6–50 mm diameter at 2:1–4:1 pitch.
PVC filament extruding
A PVC plastic filament extruding machine makes the raw coil filament we form into plastic spiral coil - color and gauge controlled from the pellet up.
Cutting & finishing
Cutting machines for coil and board, plus a finishing bench for hot-foil stamping, embossing, lamination and spot UV.

Quality control
Checks at every stage
Inspection runs from the loading dock to the carton. The goal is simple - the notebook you approve is the notebook you receive.
IQC:Incoming inspection
Paper weight and whiteness, coil wire diameter and coating, ink and cover stock checked before production.
IPQC:In-process inspection
Print registration and color against the approved proof, hole alignment, coil tension, cut and corner quality.
FQC:Pre-shipment inspection
Binding strength (page-pull), lay-flat cycle, appearance, unit count and carton drop before dispatch.
Binding strength
Page-pull and crimp checks confirm pages stay put under normal use - evaluated following recognised methods such as ASTM D4279.
Lay-flat & rotation
Cycle testing verifies smooth 180° lay-flat and 360° fold-back without coil distortion.
Hole alignment
Punch alignment held within 0.5 mm so the coil threads cleanly and the edge sits straight.
Color & print
Registration and color matched to your approved proof, with rub and adhesion checks on printed covers.
Materials compliance: FSC-certified and recycled paper available on request. Factory audit and certification details (such as ISO 9001 or BSCI) are provided on request for your sourcing file.

FAQ
Spiral notebook manufacturing questions, answered
Q: What spiral notebook sizes can you produce?
A: We produce standard A4, B5, A5, A5L, A6 and B6 notebooks, plus pocket and fully custom sizes, in both top-bound and side-bound orientations.
Q: What coil types do you offer?
A: Three coil systems: single-wire spiral coil, twin-wire (Wire-O) binding and PVC plastic coil. Wire can be nylon-coated for rust resistance, bare metal or colored, with custom Pantone color matching.
Q: What is the maximum page count you can bind?
A: With the right coil diameter we bind from about 30 sheets up to 700 sheets. Coil diameter ranges from 6 mm for thin notebooks to 50 mm for thick workbooks.
Q: Do you offer OEM and ODM customization?
A: Yes. We provide full OEM and ODM services covering design, print-ready file preparation, sampling, mass production and delivery - from cover artwork to finished branded notebooks.
Q: What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for custom spiral notebooks?
A: MOQ for a custom OEM / ODM design starts from about 500 pieces per design, depending on size, page count and finishing. Lower trial quantities can be discussed for first orders and sample runs.
Q: Can you produce private-label notebooks with our brand and artwork?
A: Yes. As a factory-direct manufacturer we print your logo, cover artwork, custom inner pages and coil color, and can add branded packaging - so the finished spiral notebook carries your brand, not ours.
Q: What are your lead times for bulk and wholesale orders?
A: Pre-production samples take about 5–7 days. After sample approval, bulk production usually runs 15–25 days, depending on quantity, printing and finishing. Exact dates are confirmed at order.
Q: Do you supply loose binding coil, not just notebooks?
A: Yes. Alongside finished notebooks we manufacture notebook coil - single-wire spiral and twin-wire Wire-O - in a range of diameters and colors, supplied to binderies and other manufacturers.
Q: Do you make your own binding coil and machines?
A: Yes. YPS has manufactured binding coil and binding machinery since 2002 - including paper punching machines, double-wire binders, spiral forming machines and PVC filament extruders. Building our own coil and equipment means tighter quality control and stable supply behind every notebook order.
Q: Do you provide samples?
A: Yes, multiple samples are available. Sample shipping fees are borne by the customer.
Q: What page layouts are available?
A: Four common layouts: ruled with 8.5 mm line spacing, 5 mm grid, dot grid and blank - plus custom printed inner pages.
Q: Will the coil rust, or pages fall out?
A: The metal coil is nylon-coated, which resists rust under normal daily use. The bound coil ends are crimped closed, so pages stay secure even with firm pulling.
Q: What are your payment terms?
A: Common terms include 30% deposit with the balance before delivery, L/C, 100% in advance, or Western Union / PayPal. Terms are confirmed per order.
