In 2003, the wire production reached 40.2 million tons; the wire processing capacity exceeded 10 million tons, and the domestic market consumption and market satisfaction rate increased significantly. The overall development trend is good.

1. The corporate structure continues to adjust

The adjustment of the corporate structure is characterized by “one reduction and three increase”, namely: the state-owned enterprises are gradually decreasing; the proportion of joint-stock enterprises with various economic components is increasing, the proportion of private enterprises is increasing, and the number of wholly foreign-owned enterprises is increasing. The vitality of the company is enhanced and the overall quality is improved.

With the continuous deepening of the reform of the national economic system, the reform of the management system has accelerated, and the operational mechanism has been significantly improved. A number of joint-stock enterprises and private enterprises with a considerable scale of economic resources have emerged as the times require, accelerating development and showing strong vitality. A group of enterprises in East China have developed rapidly in response to the development of the situation. 2. Further adjustment and optimization of product structure and technical equipment

After several years of development, a number of high-end products represented by high-quality steel rope, low-relaxation prestressed steel wire strand, tire steel cord, high-grade spring steel wire and double coil have expanded their production scale and improved product quality. The field has broadened, partially or completely replacing imported products and has begun to enter the international market.

The quality and grade of domestically produced equipment have been significantly improved. The main production equipments for wire drawing machines, stranding machines, heat treatment furnaces and coating production lines have basically met the domestic market demand, and some of the equipment has been exported. Advanced technologies such as variable frequency speed regulation, electromechanical integration, heat treatment energy saving, high performance coating, environmentally friendly surface cleaning, and large-scale heavy continuous operation lines have been widely promoted and applied.

3. The output continues to grow and the quality continues to improve.

According to incomplete statistics, the output of wire products in China has developed at a rate of about 10% per year in recent years. In 1999, the output of wire rod deep processing products in China was about 6.8 million tons. By 2003, the total amount of wire rod deep processing products in the country had exceeded 10 million tons. The growth rate was 47%, with an average annual growth rate of 10.12%. While paying attention to broadening the application field and increasing production, wire products enterprises pay more attention to strengthening management, implementing advanced standards and improving product quality; national standards are in line with international standards, and some major product standards have been revised again to achieve international advanced Level; the renewal of steel rope and prestressed steel products production licenses and the 9000 series certification revision work of most enterprises in the industry, which promoted the improvement of production, equipment and management level in the industry, and the quality and grade of products were obtained. Further improvement.

4. Most of the wire rods for products can meet the production needs.

In recent years, as the basic raw material for product production, the production of high-quality wire rod for deep processing in China is still in a period of rapid development, and its total amount and most varieties have been able to meet market demand. In 2003, China's wire rod production reached 40.2 million tons, and the wire rod deep processing ratio was 25%. The quality of wire products has been significantly improved: the wire used for low-relaxation steel strands and high-quality steel ropes, which are the main varieties of products, can be imported from the chemical composition, physical properties, size and surface precision, or the rate of finished products. The wire is comparable, not only can meet the domestic market demand, but some products have been exported; Baosteel, Wuhan Iron and Steel, Shagang, Anshan Iron and Steel equivalent steel mill wire rods have also been used in domestic steel cord production plants.
